Honda 3R-C eco-friendly bike unveiled Honda 3R-C – Tron goes eco-friendly

Fancy scooting around pretending you’re in Tron and saving the planet at the same time? Well, the all-new Honda 3R-C bike could let you do the stuff of teenage dreams, thanks to its retro-futuristic stylings and planet-saving credentials.

The concept bike is about to go on display at the Geneva Motor Show, and could well be the solution for scooting around the city with out spewing out harmful emissions. It’s battery-powered, with the electric drivetrain held low down in the chassis to help it keep balance. Honda hasn’t yet let us know how many miles it can squeeze out per charge, but we can see that it’s quite spacious, boasting a boot at the front, and a “clear canopy” keeping you tucked away from the weather.

Honda predicts that the future of zero emission commuting rests on single-person vehicles. The Geneva Motor Show takes place in March, so stay tuned for more news on the future of transport

Looks great but will you be able to drive it on a car licence or will you have to go through all the trouble to get a bike licence

Looks good. Speed and distance will be critical. The world also isn't ready for this bike as to make it as versatile as a petrol powered scooter we would need quick and remote charge stations. Also, remember the BMW C1, scooter with a canopy - it didn't take off though i admit it is an excellent idea and concept to be developed. Could you ride this honda on a car licence? No. It would need a motorcycle licence. For a hybrid scooter that you can ride on a car licence check out the piaggio MP3 Hybrid. Its available now.... http://www.uk.piaggio.com/en_UK/prodotti/mp3_hybrid/default.aspx
