Halo 4 ‘most anticipated’ Xbox game of 2012, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on PS3

What’s your most anticipated game this year? There’s a good chance it’s Halo 4. The shooter came out on top of a list of games we’re most looking forward to on Xbox 360 in 2012. With PS3 owners choosing Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 as their most anticipated, this year’s first-person-shooter war will be the closest fought yet. Which will you be picking up?

Halo 4 was declared the ‘most anticipated’ game for Xbox 360 in a survey conducted by marketing firm Nielsen, who know a thing or two about what gamers are getting most excited about.

Halo 4 Xbox 360 special edition bundle revealed

For years the Call of Duty series has had a bit of a clear run, breaking sales records in consecutive years on release. This November, it could be different. Halo 4 hits the shops on 6th November – a week before Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on 11th November.

With Halo 4 topping Xbox owners most wanted, and Black Ops 2 topping PS3 owners most wanted, it’s going to be close. Black Ops 2 also comes second in a list of Xbox 360 owners most wanted games.

Other usual suspects include Assassin’s Creed 3 as the third most wanted game on both Xbox 360 and PS3. More popular games include Madden NFL 13, Resident Evil 6, and Borderlands 2. Meanwhile Just Dance 4 tops the list of games Wii owners are most looking forward to.

The figures were grabbed from interviews with nearly 5,000 male and female gamers. Do you agree with their choices? What is you most-anticipated game of 2012?

And remember, if you’re not into either Halo or Call of Duty, EA confirmed that Battlefield 4 will be getting a release in 2013. Read more about it in the link below.
