‘God of War: Ascension’ announced as a prequel to the series
God of War: Ascension is a new prequel to the God of War series, announced by Sony as an upcoming PS3-exclusive. The prequel follows the rise of brutal protagonist Kratos as he begins the quest for revenge that made the series a household name.
To announce the title Sony released a trailer, teasing how the story will take place before Kratos began his murderous rampage through Olympus.
PlayStation 3D TV finally on sale in UK
God of War: Ascension tells the story of “a time when something other than rage consumed him. A time when in spite of the madness that plagued him, Kratos would break his blood oath to an unjust God.”
Teasing fans, Sony isn’t revealing any more information just yet. A post on the official PlayStation Blog asks fans to tune in to the blog and the God of War: Ascension Facebook page on Monday, April 30th for a live streaming event that will reveal more. A listing on Amazon.com lists the game for a December 31 2013 release.
That’s a long time to wait, so we suggest getting up to speed on the series by playing the God of War Collection. It packs in the first two games from the series remastered in HD for PS3, and the God of War Origins package. The latter delivers the PSP games, again remastered for the big screen.
