Final Fantasy VII on the way to PC via Steam

Final Fantasy VII could be set for a PC re-release, courtesy of digital PC game store Steam. Evidence comes by way of a screenshot listing a page with details for a PC purchase. All signs point to the Steam store. Final Fantasy VII is regarded by many as one of the best games in the Final Fantasy series, so it would be what many, many fans have been waiting for.

Excitement for the potential Final Fantasy XII re-release originates from the domain name www.finalfantasyvii.com being spotted by an eager fan from the GOG.com forum. The domain name belongs to Square Enix. This has been confirmed by Whois.com.

The same page also revealed some teasing information hinting at Final Fantasy XII making an appearance on Steam, with the following message: “BUY NOW PC Digital Download £7.99/€9.99.” See here right at the bottom.
That looks pretty clear to us, although said information has since been removed. Just pretend to be surprised once (if) Final Fantasy XII finally makes its way onto the store.

Not being ‘officially’ official, we’re still awaiting news of a release date. We’ll keep you posted. If you’ve never used Steam before, what better time to sign up to the online store where you’ll find a wealth of PC games, with regular sales. Check it out, here.
