EE 4G: Super speed data pricing finally revealed!
Everything Everywhere, or EE as it wants to be called these days, turns on the UK’s first 4G network a week today, and in anticipation of the launch, it’s finally revealed the pricing for its turbo download and upload rates. Want to know how much those sweet super speeds will set you back? Read on for the details.
You already know which 10 cities will get EE 4G first. Now, we’ve got the EE 4G pricing for you. For £36 per month on a two year contract you’ll get 500MB of data, £41 will get you 1GB, £46 will get you 3GB, £51 5GB, and £56 will get you 8GB; all deals include unlimited calls and texts as well. Mobile Wi-Fi plans for dongles and Wi-Fi hotspots start at £15.99 per month.
EE 4G: Smartphone super speeds tested!
Now that’s far from cheap – but we’ve seen how fast EE 4G is (in our testing, anywhere from four ten times faster than current 3G speeds), and the company has come up with some sweeteners to tempt people. If you’ve bought a 4G-ready phone from EE on a contract, you can swap it out for a 4G deal for free, while T-Mobile and Orange customers who have bought certain smartphones in the last six months (including the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S3) can switch to a new handset and a 4G contract for £99.
EE is also rolling out several new services to try and tempt people to switch to its 4G network before rivals O2 and Vodafone turn on their networks next year. EE Film, which launches on Android, PC and Mac (and is available for Android users on any network, not just EE) lets you get 2-for-1 cinema tickets on Wednesdays, as well as download or stream new release movies. EE’s throwing in one free flick per week until February for 4G subscribers, and we’ve confirmed that it won’t count towards your data limit if you pull it down over 4G.
Last but not least, subscribers on £41 per month contracts or more can choose one of three other services, a TV app that lets you watch live channels, Deezer music streaming (Similar to Spotify for mobile) and a game download service, though we’ve not confirmed which platforms this will be available on just yet.
Will EE win people over with its pricing? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below. Is it too expensive to make the jump?

This is the direct quote from EE. "Want 4GEE? But just got a new Apple iPhone 4S, Samsung Galaxy SIII or HTC 1X that's not 4G ready on a plan from either Orange or T-Mobile? No problem. We'll be able to swap you to a 4G version of your phone, and move you to a superfast 4GEE phone plan. All for just £99" iPhone 5 not mentioned?

Exactly right, the technology is here but does not match the tariff therefore making the technology unusable. Mobile networks are running this race for 4G but unless one can bring an unlimited tariff then there is no reason for anyone to rush to get 4G.

£36 a month for 500mb!! You will go through that lightning fas ton 4G! That is terrible pricing and I will be staying well clear until they offer much better / larger data amounts.

I think them prices are absolutely rediculous, £36 for 500mb is daylight robbery, i use at least 800mb aday, with all the browsing, streaming and skyping that i do, i have an unlimited data plan so even the 8gb a month wouldnt help me because on average i use around 16-20gb a month, im shocked and angry at these prices i hope EE goes out of business due to this greedy price plan !!!!!!!

A really keen pricing structure to get as much money from the people who must have the latest technology. Bet once they have some competition the prices will drop dramatically and the people who signed up straight away will be paying over the odds for the 2 years of there contract. This is why all operators should of been launching 4g at the same time to avoid this blatent profitering. I will wait for the other networks to launch at a much more competitive price.

Hmm, those prices are a bit high! Although you get unlimited text and minutes, I don't need those, I rarely use my iPhone 5 for text and messages. On my T-Mobile plan I have unlimited text, 2000 minutes of calls (which is way above what I need) and unlimited data, looks like if I fancy a switch to EE's 4G I'll only get 1GB of data for the same price. To me this is a no-brainer, I'll stay where I am thanks!!

An absolute rip off. I will stay with my all you can eat data on 3 network. Wifi is so readily available now that paying all that money for not a lot is not viable. Boycott the EE network.

a complete rip off! The pricing is absolutely ridiculous! I have the Samsung Galaxy Note and With my contract I get 250 minutes, 5000 texts and 5GB of data for £27 per month from virgin mobile. (Good deal I think) also to be honest 3G speeds aren't to bad, yeah it might talk a while at times but it still gets the job done. So by the looks of things ill will be staying with 3G until the 4G Prices drop dramatically.

just think though ...after you have used your 1 day per month data allowance how much faster your texts and phone calls will be... and also the anticipation that during your contract period the monthly charge will be increased...

I'm on the full monty on T mobile for £36 with unlimited 3G data bundle, I could swallow £46 pm for the 3gig 4G package, provided it defaults back to 3G unlimited data, IF I use up my 4G allowance, needs more investigation.

Hi i work for ee, i can see alot of people complaining that you dont get much data for the cost, fair comments but there are boosters to buy if you exceed your fair use and they are not badly priced! Be worth checking out them in the next few days :)

I can't see any advantage in moving from my £30 per month 3G unlimited contract. What would be the point in joining a super fast network that you can't use much?

As someone put it, it's like buying an amazing new Ferrari with a one litre fuel tank . Pointless. Why would I choose to pay £180 + £36 a month for 24 months for a 500mb 4g data allowance on EE for a samsung galaxy note 2, rather than no upfront phone cost +£36 a month for 24 months with UNLIMITED 3G data on t mobile??

I have just ordered a Galaxy Note II LTE from T-Mobile, with their "all you can eat" plan, for £36 per month. The 4G pricing is a complete rip-off. I will wait until competition brings prices down before opting for 4G.
