Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer reveals robots, flying machines and zombies!

The first Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer has been released revealing a futuristic setting and what appears to be a man versus machine storyline where technology has gone rogue, ala Terminator! Giant mechs, radio-controlled flying machines and lots of famous Call of Duty set-pieces all look to feature. What’s more, there will even be zombies!

In a world premiere trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 the first footage reveals a storyline set in 2025, opening with one of the game’s characters, an old man, setting the scene:

Call of Duty: Black Ops review for PS3

“The technology We build computers, robots, whole unmanned armies, but no-one ever asks when the enemy steals the keys,” he says.

“And the things they built to keep us safe are turned against us. That’s when they figured it out. They’ll always need men like us. Those who are willing to do what others cannot.”

We see glimpses of Los Angeles and the Middle East under heavy fire, crumbling buildings under siege by unmanned aircraft, and giant mech robots walking through battlefields like mechanical machine gun-armed dogs. Technology and advanced weaponry has evolved beyond measure.

Fighter jets, Stealth Bombers, motorbike-based set-pieces, horses, quadrotors and naval ship explosions all make an appearance. This is Call of Duty with a futuristic twist. Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is a direct sequel to the original Black Ops.

Unlike the prequels, Black Ops 2 will have branching storylines, and multiple paths that determine the path the story takes. Zombies are also back. Developer Treyarch is promising new modes, but declined to say what they are. We hope to hear more details in future. The full trailer can be seen at Callofduty.com. Let us know what you think.
