Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 set to break pre-order records!
Following the world premiere Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer, anticipation for the shooter is sky-high. Publisher Activision claims the game is already breaking pre-order records previously set by Modern Warfare 3. If true, Black Ops 2 will be the most successful Call of Duty game ever. With the game going up against Halo 4 this November, it has to be.
Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg claims that since the first Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 trailer aired, first-week pre-orders are already eclipsing those set by predecessor Modern Warfare 3.
“Although it’s very early, we’re also incredibly pleased with the pre-orders, which in the first week since reveal are tracking ahead of the record-breaking pace set by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3,” Hirshberg said.
Call of Duty Black Ops 2: five things you need to know
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, unlike earlier entries, is set in the future, which Hirshberg sees as a major turning point in the series, and one that has got fans excited for Call of Duty all over again. Even more so than last year.
“The Black Ops 2 reveal trailer was the most watched video of the day on YouTube and views were up 82 per cent compared to the reveal trailer for Modern Warfare 3. During our launch, we had 5 of the top 9 U.S. top-trending topics on Twitter at the same time. And Facebook traffic is 43 per cent higher than the prior year.”
Previous entry Modern Warfare 3 broke all sorts of day one and first week sales records as it went up against EA’s rival shooter Battlefield 3. This time around Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 will be up against competition in the form of Halo 4.
Halo 4 landing on November 6: Master Chief is back
Halo 4 will arrive in shops on November 6th, 2012, just one week before Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on November 13th. If there’s any game that can put a dampener on Activision’s party, it is Halo 4.
The Halo games combined are the most successful first-person shooter games ever. Recent statistics revealed that players have amassed play time spanning over 235,000 years, and counting.

I agree battlefield is a much better game. Cod 4 modern owarfare was good because it was realistic, innovative and replicated the experience and feeling of being a soldier. What it is meant to do. The new one copies homefront. The small rc tanks with machine guns. But worst of all star wars. Just look at the picture qnd you'll notice. Battlefield. Learning how to use the vehicles deal with recoil and finding a gun which suits you. All try their best to replicate being a soldier. But no game cqn do recoil properly. They used a swat officer to use a military gun on blanks in a pretend shop robbery.he would have zippered the shop keeper and shot himself in the foot. Even he said the recoil stopped him from ketting go of the trigger. This person is a swat officer qnd couldn't deal with recoil how would we faire.

I am so sick of COD games. I really enjoyed COD2 and COD4 because those really were EPIC! But the idea to release a new COD every year is just pathetic. Instead of making a decent war game like Battlefield, they just making new maps every year, and adding a few, almost unnoticeable stuff in the game, expecting decent sales. This type of money making is pathetic. Today's game companies should take a look at EpicGames or VALVe. They develop games for years(see UT3 or Portal2 each was developed 4 years) and then they release the game expecting huge sale. This is how game companies should make games. So sad. I want OLD PC times back, when games were made to be played MUCH, not to be bought, played few hours, then tossed out of the window. Just pathetic.
