B&O announce 40-inch full HD BeoVision 8
The BeoVision 8 finally goes big(ger).
Swish Danish style merchants Bang & Olufsen have just announced that they are to launch a new 40-inch version of their BeoVision 8 LCD television.
The screen is currently available only in 26-inch and 32-inch versions, but the new version is clearly aimed at those seeking something a bit more special: it’s the first full HD BeoVision 8, you see, coming with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
Other specs include a 100Hz refresh rate, 6ms response time and 3,000:1 contrast ratio. Feature-wise, it sports an anti-glare screen and built-in subwoofer to deliver low-end rumble, plus speakers turned to reproduce human voices more clearly.
The price tag and release date are as yet unknown, but if this is anything like B&O’s existing products, the former is going to be on the very high side…
