BlackBerry 10: Turbo keyboard smartphone spotted!
BlackBerry 10, RIM’s upcoming reboot of its BlackBerry software for smartphones, isn’t expected out until early next year, and neither are the phones running it. But according to this leaked, rather legit looking marketing video, these will be the first two BlackBerry 10 phones: now, who is the tasty one on the right with buttons?
Last night, a video which appears to be an internal marketing pitch for the promotion of BlackBerry 10 appeared on video site Vimeo. RIM has yet to confirm it’s legitimate, but in the hours since the clip has been pulled, suggesting the Canadian company does indeed have something to hide: but not before others copied the video and shared it online.
So what doesn’t RIM want us to see just yet? Likely, it’s the BlackBerry 10 smartphone with a keyboard you see on the right here (The touchscreen model on the left is based on the early test units RIM has been seeding out to developers for some time, and comes as little surprise). It’s packing a huge touchscreen alongside its top notch QWERTY layout: it looks like the ultimate cross between a BlackBerry Bold and the much mourned Palm Pre of yesteryear.
RIM is hoping its BlackBerry 10 software will help it stand out in a thick crowd, but iPhone and Android aren’t going anywhere, and Windows Phone is starting to get some traction, so it’s got an uphill battle ahead of it. Do you like the look of these BlackBerry 10 phones? Let’s hear your thoughts in the comments below – and you can check out the whole video over at SlashGear.
