Best digital cameras under £200

Smartphones may be catching up with dedicated digital cameras when it comes to picture quality, but even now nothing can replace the feeling of shooting with a dedicated snapper. If you’re looking for a digital camera, don’t for one second think you’re wasting your time. You can grab a great one for just under £200 with photo quality you won’t get with your smartphone. Here are some you can now grab for a bargain.

Each of the below cameras are proven bargain snappers. Read on for a quick guide on what you need to know about each. We’ve given you a rough online price guide, but don’t forget to look around for a bargain.

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77

The likes of Canon and Nikon may rule when it comes to cameras, but Panasonic also does some great things. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX77 here is stylish little camera with a 12.1-megapixel sensor, 5x zoom and and a 3.5-inch touchscreen viewer. It also records video in full HD. Look around and you’ll find it for just under £200.

Nikon Coolpix P300

The Nikon Coolpix P300 has a retro feel about it that is typically Nikon. It has a 12.2-megapixel sensor and shoots full HD video. Its f/1.8 zoom lens also copes well in low-light conditions. For around £180 you’ll get shots to rival even some DSLR cameras.

Samsung MV800

This little snapper is a camera that’s great for having fun with. The Samsung MV800 has a range of shooting modes and digital photo effects, a cool flip out monitor shoots HD video. It also has a 16.1-megapixel camera and a 5x optical zoom. For £150 the Samsung MV800 is decent value.

Canon PowerShotSX230 HS

The Canon PowerShotSX230 HS isn’t the newest Canon shooter on the block, but for under £200 you’ll be getting a camera with few faults. The PowerShotSX230 HS features a 12.1-megapixel camera, 14x optical zoom, image stabilisation, and Canon’s typically easy-to-use menus. A great bet for a very reliable camera that offers superb quality photo quality.

Nikon Coolpix S9100

You can find the Nikon Coolpix S9100 for around £160, making it one of the cheapest of our bargain picks. Full HD video recording, an 18x optical zoom and some cool photography modes make the Nikon Coolpix S9100 worth checking out.

Good suggestions-would be good if you could see comparisons between the cameras though.
