Battle of Britain: Sony and LG 4K TVs hit the UK!
Sony and LG have both just released some of the biggest boobtubes in history, with each company touting humungous 84-inch 4K Super High Definition televisions. While the huge televisions both sport massive resolutions, they’ll both command an equally big price tag – but the good news is that they’re both coming to the UK for the first time.
Sony’s XBR 4K display commands a 3,840×2,160 resolution, almost four times bigger than 1080p, but the television itself isn’t alone with the $24,999 (£15,600) price tag. Paying that premium also grants you an Xperia Tablet S to act as a remote control, as well as a media server loaded with some 4K UHD movies that make the absolute most of the beastly resolution – including the new Total Recall movie.
Sony promises lenty of Ultra High Definition films are on the way

LG, on the other hand, is not to be outdone on the television front, as the company’s 84LM960V 84-inch Ultra High Definition television is available today and is also being showcased off at The Gadget Show Live at London’s Excel centre. We got eyes on with it today, and it’s a thing of beauty alright, with images so sharp they seem like posters on a wall. Ghostly, demon, moving posters.
Sporting the same Ultra High Definition resolution as Sony’s offering, the 84-incher is a bit pricier but also packs in 3D with 7 pairs of glasses, Freeview HD, built-in Wi-Fi and also features LG’s Magic Remote Control. All of that can be yours, for just a mere £22,499.99, which helpfully includes delivery, survey and standard installation.

I was the guy who went to the gadget show Christmas special on sunday03 December 2012
I went to the gadget show Christmas at the ExCeL centre and When I got to LG's 4K TV I was amazed! There was so much detail throughout the whole thing and colours where crisp and lifelike. It makes any 1080p TV look like a joke. It really was that good. Sure it's expensive (£22,500) But I'm sure the price will eventually be lowered.
