Asus PadFone 2 out tomorrow: First images!
The Asus PadFone 2, the company’s barmy phone-in-a-tablet combo, is due to be unveiled tomorrow at a press conference in Milan. But in the meantime, the leaks have started to come thick and fast. As well as confirmed details of what to expect, we’re now seeing the first images of the dyanmic duo too. Read on for the skinny on both.
The folks behind Twitter account @evleaks, notorious for leaking spot on imagery of unannounced gadgets, published some tantalising press pictures of what they claimed was the Asus PadFone 2 yesterday.

The new look tag team packs a larger phine that, crucially, looks a lot easier to plug in and power the tablet: it slides right in at the back, no fiddly trap door required. The phone also appears to be running at least Android 4.0, rather than the original’s rather out of date 2.3 version, but it could well be running the latest and greatest Android 4.1 “Jelly Bean”.

How do we know these are legit? It just so happens that a Bloomberg TV reporter was given a sneak peek glimpse at the Asus PadFone 2 on camera this weekend, and his hands on with the device confirms that these images are the real deal. He also confirms that the phone will pack a 4.7-inch HD screen, and a stonking 13 megapixel camera for superb shots when you’re not using it as a tablet.
We’re still in the dark about other details, such as when the Asus PadFone 2 goes on sale and just how many of your organs you’ll need to flog to get one, but expect that all to become clear tomorrow. We’ll keep you posted.
