'All weather' Sony Xperia Go out this month on O2

The dust-repelling, water-resistant Sony Xperia Go will be available to purchase on the O2 network later this month. The Xperia Go might be another so-called ‘rugged’ smartphone, but you wouldn’t know from looking at it. It’s one of the most stylish around, with clever tech such as wet finger tracking, so you can use it in the rain.

A “coming soon” product page on the O2 website confirms that the Sony Xperia Go will be arriving in July. An exact date hasn’t been confirmed, so the device could go on sale at any time.

Sony Xperia Go laughs in the face of dust and water

The Sony Xperia Go is a rugged smartphone with a difference. It doesn’t look like a rugged smartphone at all. It might be a tough cookie, but it’s easy on the eye, and built to withstand dust and water, while wet finger tracking lets you use the slippery touchscreen in soggy conditions.

Less adventurous users can also find plenty to like. The Xperia Go is an Android smartphone. It comes with Android 2.3 at launch, but will be upgradeable to Android 4.0 in the near future.

You also get a 3.5-inch screen with Sony’s Reality Display and Mobile Bravia Engine for better quality pictures, a 1GHz dual-core processor, 5-megapixel camera and the ability to share videos to a HD TV. Sign up with O2 and you’ll also get 50GB of free cloud storage for life.

The Sony Xperia Go comes in three colours, black, white and yellow. As rugged smartphones go, it has got to be the most stylish. Have you seen a better-looking tough phone?
