3D home movie filming coming soon
Make your own 3D movies
We caught a glimpse of Panasonic’s monstrous-looking 3D video camera concept at CES last month, and here’s another that’s gone beyond the concept stage.
Called the Ikonshop A-Cam3D, this chunky cam shares the Panasonic’s slightly ET-esque looks, though at 2.8kg it’s surprisingly portable for a twin-lens camera.
That pair of lenses feeds visuals through to twin full HD sensors behind. In the initial stages, footage is captured as RAW files for maximum quality, with a choice of 25fps or 30fps to ensure universal compatibility with HDTVs. The footage is then stitched together to form the finished 3D image ready for exporting while you look around for where you left those 3D specs.
There’s no details on price or availability yet, though considering Panasonic was talking about close to £13k for its effort, any notions to buy one of these babies might be one for the “wishful thinking” category.
