Another week, another report from my “it’s a tough job, but someone’s got to do it” journal.

This time, while Jon was getting lost in Paris, and the rest of the ream were back in Blighty, I bravely volunteered to buzz around the sand dunes of Dubai on a Sand X, which is basically a pimped-out snowmobile, customised especially for transport on sand.

The general jist is that it’s designed to go as fast as possible and for you to have as much fun as possible. And in that mission, it well and truly succeeded – I had a wicked time.

But it wasn’t all fun and games, I did nearly come a cropper when I tackled a rather big dune. See? The risks I take in the name of gadgetry…
