Is this the sexiest gadget ever?

Tuesday 16 March 2010

This week at The Gadget Show we’ve been deliberating – not to mention salivating – over some of the sexiest gadgets on the planet.

Yes, tech has come a long way since boring beige boxes that were only the staple of the nerdiest. Some of the most stunning product design is now present in the gadget world.

So this week we celebrate by looking at five of the best – from the LG Watchphone to the Dell Adamo, we pore over the most desirable tech around.

But what do you think? Should the B&W Nautilus speakers take the prize? Or do you think that there’s a gadget more deserving of the title?

Let us know in the comments section below…

John mentioned that there is no pinch zoom on the magic mouse... You can get better Magic mouse drivers that allow you do pinch zoom and lots more here... http://blog.boastr.net/ Also adds more functions to a macbook multitouch trackpad. AND IT'S FREE! There are sometimes that the gadget show lacks gadgety knowledge!

Funny story surrounding the Nautilus speakers......popped into my local audio shop (which stocks B&W) to buy some speaker cable and my teenage step-daughter started rocking one of those speakers back & forth holding onto the tweeter cone extension at the back. Cue 2 sales staff "Can I help you Sir?". Never been served so fast! You must admit, they do look and sound amazing......

Look at this website www.amati-rd.ch they out perform the B&W Nautilus by miles. Admitted B&W Nautilus where designed with the technology of that time (about 20 years ago) and the “Amati” integrated sound systems are designed with the latest technology. Price is similar but the B&W Nautilus is “just” a speaker where the “Amati” systems are wireless, fully active integrated sound systems so that no external equipment or cables are needed. Each sound system comprises, built into the base of each of the two speakers: Wireless data receiver- Active crossovers- Digital to Analogue converter 24Bit/192KHz (DAC)- Separate active amplifiers, each matched to relevant driver- Only one cable from each speaker to mains is required- All functions including volume are directly wireless controlled from any computer, laptop, ipad etc.
