3D TV so big it's scary
3D may be everyone’s favourite new TV tech, but let’s be honest – not that many of us actually have one yet.
That’s mainly because there aren’t too many of them around yet here in the UK, but not so in Japan. We’re used to having our gadget senses teased whenever we gaze in the direction of the Far East, but Panasonic’s latest take on 3D for Japanese punters is just a bit bonkers.
The company has just released a range of Ultra-Large Full HD 3D displays that might leave you searching not just for the remote control, but probably the rest of your house too. These babies come in 152, 103 and 85in models, and lest we remind you – that’s all those inches in 3D.
Panasonic was too polite to mention the price of these “professional-grade” AV mammoths in officially launching them today – rumours mention six-figure prices for the top-end model, but the good news is that after the usual suspects in Japan and the US get their super-size 3D jollies we’ll be seeing these behemoths in the UK “soon after”.
Until then, we’re just going to have to make do with our limited offering of conventional 3D tellies to make all that talk of the World Cup in 3D come true – or at least check out the stadiums in 3D online using the Google Earth tool announced today.
